Scientia Experimentalis

The 6th chapter of Roger Bacon’s Opus Majus is titled Scientia Experimentalis. It outlines the scientific method (?). Or, and, it argues in favour of experience as the means of achieving knowledge.

Without experience, nothing can be properly known.1

Modern science is based on theory and experiment. Previously (in Europe), it had been based on theory alone.
